Finally - the dollhouse is ready

Finally the doll house is ready! In the end I decided to go for a book shelf and decorate it with Marimekko paper to arrange different rooms. I bought the kitchen, the bathroom, the baby room and the dolls from Lundby. But I must say I am a bit disappointed. They are not very sturdy. The mother doll is already broken. For a kids toy this is not a very good start. The bedroom interior is from Muji. And the bedlinen made by myself from Marimekko fabric (I love their bold patterns). I also used several mini designer chairs (you can get them at the Page One book shop here in Hong Kong). Last not least I have sewn a leather sofa and created a table out of a piece of wooden flooring sample and clothes pegs. Coasters are serving as rugs. My daughter got it for Christmas and loved it!

Stylish doll houses

This is my dream doll house. It's from a company called MINIO. It's very minimalist and stylish. But it comes with a huge price tag and I am not sure if my daughter would value that. You can order it from here if you are interested: http://www.miniio.com/

Another beautiful doll house is this one here by LUNDBY:

It's also very stylish not as minimalist though. You can get a large range of accessoiries for it. And it's available at AMAZON too.

My plan is to create a similar style as MINIO from stylish storage boxes but use the LUNDBY furniture. I will show you the result in a couple of weeks as it will be the Christmas gift for my daughter (and for Mama, too ;) ).

Lundby dolls house

I just uncovered this adorable dolls house furniture by Lundby. I want to get this for my daughter for Christmas. The dolls house itself is not really my style. I want to use this one instead:

Or maybe I am going to build one out of acrylic boxes I have seen at Muji...

Janod stacking pyramid

Our daughter turned two on May 9 and we had her birthday party last weekend. She got lots of presents. One of them was this super cute stacking set of triangular cubes. The little ones can either use them for building or stacking. My daughter uses them for counting...

DIY playhouse for my daughter

We finished the playhouse today. It's made of four sides of a playpen we were no longer using. I just added a cardboard roof and threaded a blanket through the sides of the playpen. On top of the roof I placed another blanket. And for more comfort I used a big cushion as flooring. Just added a bit of decoration and here we go...
My daughter loves it! Especially putting her toys and books inside and then closing the door. It's her little hut.

Dollhouse "made lovely"

Source: http://makingitlovely.com/2011/12/15/a-dollhouse-made-lovely/

I just came across this adorable doll house. Nicole Balch from http://makingitlovely.com/ has made this piece for her daughter. I wish I could make a similar one one day for my little girl. I have already started collecting miniature design chairs which I want to use for it one day...

No-pedal bike

Source: http://www.itsimagical.hk

At the moment I am in love with this no-pedal bike. I found it at itsimagical. The price is also great at least when I compare it to what I have seen elsewhere in Hong Kong. But I guess we should wait until our daughter turns two. At the moment it's still a bit too challenging for her.

Christmas wishlist

I'm in love with this play kitchen from IKEA. It looks exactly like the one they have in store for the grown-ups. I think we will get one for our daughter as Christmas present. We went to a toddler party a few weeks ago and all kids were happily playing with the toy kitchen, the 9 month old baby loved it and the 5 year old even so.

And look at all the beautiful accessories you can get from IKEA too.

Anne Claire Petit Tea Set

Source: Born to

This beautiful tea set arrived last week at our place from the UK. Taking advantage of the weak British pound I made a good bargain compared to prices for Anne Claire Petit items for sale in Hong Kong. OK, there was the shipping fee but altogether it was still a good deal. And my daughter is so happy to play tea time with it...

Toys or colourful decoration?

These are not only toys they also make for really cool decoration. You can even sew the gorgeous cuddle cows yourself. Just follow the instructions given in the link. And the last photo gives a little forecast on Easter deco. Lovely, isn't it? Maybe I will paint a bodysuit for my daughter this year for Easter...

Counting sheep

I remember the brand Oilily from  my childhood days. How interesting to see that they are still in business. Also check out Inhabitots for loads of green products and ideas. And in order to make your little one fall asleep more easily hang those cute little sheep over her cot so she can count them every evening!

Bright teddy bears

A couple of bright fun teddy bears. The first one is a cool recycling project for baby socks. Just spend a couple minutes and make one! And how lovely is the family bear print! And last not least the super cute bears made of fabric.

Retro Trend

I love the new retro trend that's coming to the nursery. Look at these adorable soft toys. That's such a great alternative to Barbie & Co. Check out the Decor8 blog for more stylish ideas, not only for babies...

It's bunny time

Today I have a couple of lovely little bunnies for you. I have actually made those felt bunnies for Easter last year:

Here is the link with the instructions how to make them: Felt Bunnies

I think those little bunnies from Ocechou are really really gorgeous. Check out their other stuff as well. It's super nice too. And for the creative people there is Purlbee again with some bunny patterns.

Cutie elephants

Here come some more elephants. I have fallen in love with these cute softies. Aren't they just lovely? I would love to buy them all. It's so hard to resist. And have a look at the beautiful crocheted blanket! If I only had more time and passion to make one by myself...

Super cool plush toys

Oh how I love these super cool plush toys. If possible I would buy them all! Isn't the geisha doll adorable? And how about the mushroom stool? That's a great idea! And then the guitar! Maybe I should try to make one myself... And I am totally in love with the super cute cuddle elephant.
