DIY playhouse for my daughter

We finished the playhouse today. It's made of four sides of a playpen we were no longer using. I just added a cardboard roof and threaded a blanket through the sides of the playpen. On top of the roof I placed another blanket. And for more comfort I used a big cushion as flooring. Just added a bit of decoration and here we go...
My daughter loves it! Especially putting her toys and books inside and then closing the door. It's her little hut.

I love the colours. So I have decided to spice up the blue guestroom (which will become the boys' room) with a little bit of yellow. Only problem. The STUVA storage system is not exactly yellow but lime green...

This is definitely a design I want to copy. I already bought the frame boards in order to use them as book shelves. What a beautiful way to showcase lovely books.

A table and chair for our little colouring addict

Our daughter is obsessed with colouring. Now we finally bought the right environment for her. A visit to IKEA resulted in this set of table and chair now decorating our living room. The chair is called Sundvik and the table Kritter.

There's a trend for modern stylish deco objects for children. I just bought the cute Lumilove rabbit for my daughter. It constantly changes the colour glowing in all rainbow colours. I also like the minimalist Oxo Candela little creatures from outer space. Both nightlights come with LED lights and can be used without batteries or plugs. Just charge them once and enjoy hours of colourful glow.
The Magis puppy is also very minimalist and trendy. We own a white little fellow (see the last picture). I was very impressed when I found that super modern fuchsia and white girl's room. The little puppy fits perfectly into the ambiance!

I love these styling ideas with hooks. You can hang a few favourite baby or kids clothes on them and voila you have a beautiful eye catcher in your nursery. I have mounted some hooks in my daughters nursery too and now I hang two or three of her best dresses on them. That looks really cool.

I am a big fan of Ray and Charles Eames. And those bright hooks are a perfect match for the nursery in my eyes. So for my little one's next room we will definitely get one.

Change table inspiration

A little bit of inspiration for the change table. You don't really need to worry about buying one, you can just transform an existing chest of drawers into a change table. All you need is the changing mat. You can get it from most baby stores and even IKEA has an inflatable one.
Since my chest of drawers was a bit too high I bought a change table from IKEA. The good thing about it is that its dimensions are not very large and it's lightweight so we have now moved it into the bathroom making cleaning a lot easier in case there has been a little accident...

These are a few images of my favourite cots and cribs. The cardboard crib is not only eco-friendly but also really stylish I think. And how about the gorgeous butterfly mobile? Or if you prefer it a bit more rustic try the wooden crib. Not your style? Then how about the super modern nursery in the last image? This is a nursery for a little interior designer!

Nature is always a nice theme for the nursery and kids love trees. So why not decorate their rooms with one of these gorgeous trees? And you could easily add a growth chart too with brightly coloured tape. Use at least two colours and stick 10 or 5 cm pieces alternately to the stem of the tree.

This simple tree house will make every little one happy. It will provide them with a space of their own with no access for parents. It could be a sleeping place or a play hut. I also love the tree that is mounted to the wall with little hooks for coats and bags.
