I have just uncovered this great travel cot by Babybjorn:
It ways only 5 kg and is therefore the super light weight on the travel cot market. It can be assembled within seconds with a single movement and it stands firmly on the ground. No wobbling if the baby stands up. Measuring 45 x 31.5 x 23.5 inches (L x W x H).
Since we travel a lot by plane and not so much by car this is the perfect travel cot for us! Only disadvantage - it's not cheap.
Stylish deco ideas, inspiring DIY projects, creative sewing, beautiful clothes, fabulous gear, yummy food & more for kids

MacLaren seat liners
My ESPRIT stroller broke down just after a year. To be fair I must admit that we have used it A LOT. And Hong Kong is quite hard on strollers with its ten thousand steps...
So everyone in Hong Kong is using a MacLaren stroller. They seem to be more durable. That's why I got a preloved MacLaren Triumph stroller for my daughter. Since it was preloved I wanted to accessoirize it a bit to make it look at least a bit more fashionable. I decided for a seat liner. They come in all kinds of styles. The only problem is to find them at your local store. I got this one for my daughter:

But there are also very nice options available for boys:
I was hoping to find this one for my twins somewhere in Hong Kong but the MacLaren shop doesn't have it...

Almost there - Being 37 weeks pregnant with twins
Did you ever want to know how someone looks being 37 weeks pregnant with twins? Well this is me with my huge tummy... Officially the twins are allowed to get out now. Everything looks fine.
Astonishingly this pregnancy was even easier than the last one. No lower back pain, no high blood pressure, weight gain by now is 18 kg. I had gained the same with only one baby last time.
So let's see how the labour will be, hope it will be the same nice surprise as the pregnancy itself! I dare not think about anything beyond labour yet... only how they might look like, whether they will look the same as my daughter or totally different perhaps?

DIY: Stamps for printing on fabric
This was last weekend's project. I made a stamp from foam craft sheet and a piece of wood and then used it for printing on a shirt purchased at Muji.
For the stamp you just need to cut the shape out of the foam board and then you glue it onto a flat piece of wood in the same size. Once the glue is properly dried you can use your new stamp and fabric paint and decorate your shirt etc.

While on the lookout for inspiration for the boys' nursery I came across these lovely retro style nurseries. I love those bold 70's fabrics and wallpapers. Not sure yet how I can add a bit of that style to my nursery though. Maybe I need to keep on browsing for some fabric...

A new stroller

Yesterday we bought the stroller for the twins. It's stroller number three for us. For our first born we had a Quinny Buzz stroller since we were very enthusiastic about jogging back then. And it's true you can go and take the baby for a run. But in the city (especially in a stroller-unfriendly city like Hong Kong) it's slightly too heavy and too wide. Also the front wheel often gets you in trouble when you have to go up and down the pavement. So that's why we got an ESPRIT buggy afterwards. Very lightweight and folds away very nicely. So I was using that one for almost a year on a daily basis and believe me Hong Kong is a hard test! What happened was that one of the tires of the back wheels came off. Really a shame. I tried to fix it with bathroom silicon. But not sure whether that will last long. So that was why for the twins we have decided to go with the brand that almost everybody seems to go with in Hong Kong. Therefore it's a MacLaren. In addition we found that tandem strollers are not very handy. Too long, very hard to manoevre. Plus I wanted the twins to see each other. I hope that will make them happier and calmer. That's the theory. In the end the Twin Triumph is only eight centimeters wider than our Quinny Buzz and still fits on regular escalators and through standard doors. And it's easy to manoevre. It also folds away relatively small. That's important when you have to take taxis as often as we do. So let's wait and see for the daily test on Hong Kong's streets in a few weeks time. At least it is very trendy even celebrities like Pitt/Jolie have one!

I am totally hooked on clouds at the moment! So I will try to make a cloud mobile for the boy's change table. And I am also thinking of making some cloud appliques for a blanket... Maybe I could even print my own cloud fabric?
